Monday, July 2, 2012 - Lincoln, NE to Burlington, IA

Hey! We can see Rosenblatt from our parking lot!

Rosenblatt Stadium, former home of the former Omaha Royals (now Storm Chasers) and the College World Series.
We were there four years ago.

Hello again Iowa. We've missed you!

What kind of division???

Oh! That kind!

Todd is naturalizing Iowa.

Danke!

We are in Riverside, Iowa. Sadly, we missed TrekFest by only 2 days.

Why is TrekFest held in Riverside Iowa, you ask? A native son will be a very important man someday.

This is where it all will begin, less than 216 years from now.

"Historical" marker

Woo!

Past, present, future history

And souvenir shop

We met some other pilgrims to this great place! They came from Utah to pay respects.

We came from the East Coast to pay repects.

It's an invasion!

USS Donation

We are in Burlington, IA to see the Bees (A for the A's) take on the Clinton (IA) Lumberkings (A for the Mariners).

We feel safe here.

Stephanie and Buzz

Deb's here!

The field from where Deb stands.

The stands from where Deb stands

We have seen 8 of the teams in the Midwest League on our treks over time (sorry, still mentally in Riverside). After tomorrow, make it 9!

The field

Outfield bar and bleachers

We parked in a field.

With prices like these...

We will keep our lips, thank you very much.

The sun is almost gone for the day.

Dancing kids and not a kid

Two local teams, the Little Cubbies and Little Giants, prepare for a pic.

We met another set of baseball roadtrippers! Paul and Paul are doing Iowa right!

Did the parents dye one kid's mohawk red so they can tell them apart from behind?

Our first extra-inning game this trip! Happily, the Bees stung the Lumberkings into submission in the 10th.
Attendance was 755.

Goodbye Iowa, we are crossing the Great River into Illinois.
